- Born in Mart, Texas, songwriter Cindy Walker had the unique
ability to write hits in a wide variety of musical styles ranging from
hard-core country to pop. With some 500 songs to her credit, the hits
include Ray Charles' "You Don't Know Me," Bob Wills' "Bubbles in My
Beer," "Cherokee Maiden" and "You're From Texas," Ernest Tubb's "Hey
Mr. Bluebird" and "Two Glasses Joe" and Roy Orbison's "Dream Baby (How
Long Must I Dream)."
