- Noble Doss, a University of Texas
football star from 1939-41 still holds the career interception record
for the
Longhorns with 17, a mark that was later tied by Nathan Vasher. Doss is
most
remembered, though, for “The Catch,” a miraculous grab against then
undefeated
Texas A&M that set up the only touchdown in a 7-0 upset in 1940.
Doss later
played in the NFL for two years with Philadelphia
