Rodeo Austin, Austin, Texas March 1 - 15. Look for Robert's booth in the rodeo arena exhibit area during arena hours and in the Founder's Club. As in the past, Robert created the poster art for the event. He has been the Official Artist to Rodeo Austin (formerly known as Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo) since 2001. Maggie Mae's Gibson Room in Austin, Texas. Robert's artwork, along with photos by Eddie Kramer, and a variety of Gibson guitars will permanently decorate this new, exclusive facility located in the famed Maggie's Mae's on Sixth Street.

Lifeworks, an Austin, Texas based charitable organization, will be auctioning a original painting by Robert Hurst of University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy at their 14th Annual Academy Awards Gala February 24 . Last year's painting of Vince Young sold for a record $10,000. Robert hope to set another record this year.

Robert just completed artwork that was used on prints and programs to promote the upcoming June 2006 Urban Legends Weekend's 3rd Annual Jimmy Wynn Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting the Houston Area Urban League. Official Artist to the College Baseball Hall of Fame
Robert is finishing up a series of paintings for the new College Baseball Hall of Fame. Prints of the paintings will be presented to each of the ten inductees at the July 4th induction ceremony in Lubbock Texas. SIMS On-Line Auction Including a Robert Hurst Art Guitar
This summer the SIMS Foundation is auctioning five fantastic Gibson Les Paul art guitars, all custom-designed by Central Texas musicians and artists. Robert Hurst, along with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Mike Judge, Terry Allen, and Bob Schneider all donated their time and creative talents to support SIMS through this project. The auction will take place on eBay from July 11-20. Stay tuned to the SIMS website for a link to the auction page: www.simsfoundation.org. The SIMS Foundation is a nonprofit that provides low-cost counseling and other mental health services to Austin-area musicians and their families.
